It has been 14 years since we had a German round on the Maxxis FIM EnduroGP World Championship calendar. But, as the organizers of the 2017 season finale in Zschopau, we will already see a few German representatives ready to fight next weekend with the creme de la creme of World Enduro at the Italian GP in Spoleto. Two top riders are coming to join in the fun: Marco NEUBERT (KTM) and Tim APOLLE (Husqvarna)!
Whilst we have seen Edward HÜBNER (D - KTM) in the EGP paddock for a few seasons, he will not be able to be present in Italy due to a serious injury contracted last year (open fracture of the left fibula)...
But this will not prevent Germany from being well represented in Spoleto! Indeed, the 2016 European E2 Champion Marco NEUBERT will join us in Italy. The Motoclub Zwönitz rider will line up with the EnduroGP favourites on his KTM 450EXC. Already present at the Italian Grand Prix in Fabriano in 2016, NEUBERT will aim to get closer to the Top 10.
For his part, the great young hope Tim APOLLE will come to try his hand in the fiercely competitive Junior category. An established rider in the SuperEnduro World Championship where he finished 3rd Junior in 2016, the 21-year-old rider will be making his debut in the EnduroGP World Championship and will try to make a strong impression in the fast and furious Under-23 category!
With NEUBERT and APOLLE, Germany will be putting forward two of its most promising riders in Spoleto (Italy), next week. A historically strong country for Enduro, we hope to see even more German riders in the EnduroGP paddock in the future, especially since Edward HÜBNER should be healed in time for the Maxxis Grand Prix of Hungary at the end of June!
