While the off-season and the transfer period are coming to an end, a last change has just appeared! The 125cc World Youth Champion 2015 Mikael PERSSON (S) will be present after all in EnduroGP this season!
Eager to get back on track after two seasons at Yamaha, PERSSON will ride with his own private team on a KTM. He will team up with the young Joakim GRELSSON (S), European Champion 2017, who will contend in the 125cc Youth class! This 100% Scandinavian team has been named MP69 KTM Racing Team will be managed by Trygve RAMSTAD.
The Swede, who was with the Official Yamaha Johansson MPE team in 2017, finished in the Top 5 Under-23 category after suffering health problems at the end of the season which meant he missed the last two GPs. "Micke" will participate in the Junior class, and will be one of the main favourites for the title along with Davide SORECA (I - TM), Albin ELOWSON (S - Yamaha), Jack EDMONDSON (GB - Sherco) and Matteo CAVALLO (I - Beta).
Mikael PERSSON: “I am completely recovered from my health problems and I cannot wait to get start the new season... during the off-season I decided to set up a private team with a young 125cc Swedish rider thanks to the help from KTM Scandinavia and a lot of sponsors. I also found a team manager who will be able to drive the race van etc. With the help of many friends, I think we can have a good season.”
While many thought that we would no longer see Mikael PERSSON in the EnduroGP paddock, the Swede has taken everyone by surprise by creating a private team structure and also giving the opportunity to another young Swedish hopeful to rub shoulders with the best in the world... The Junior category looks decidedly exciting!
