Unstoppable HOLCOMBE!

After two months of well-deserved summer break, EnduroGP was back in business for a somewhat special UK FunnelWeb Filter Grand Prix... this GP consisted of an Enduro Sprint on Saturday and a GNCC Sunday. For the occasion, Paul EDMONDSON and Fast Eddy Racing had created a beautiful KTM Enduro Test in the woods alongside the circuit of Hawkstone Park; it gave us an intense battle for points in the Mika Ahola "Brave One" Trophy...

MABOTGARCIA & MCCANNEY on the hunt!

With this unique race format, the riders only had Saturday to try and score big points in the fight for the Mika Ahola “Brave One” belt. In this limited time frame, the current leader of EnduroGP, Steve HOLCOMBE (GB - Beta), proved to be the best.
Indeed, the factory Beta rider gave his competitors no chance to fight back and won each one of the 6 runs through the Enduro Test. He finished with an extremely impressive margin of 35 seconds on his nearest pursuer, Josep GARCIA (E - KTM)...
The Brit now has an 8 point lead in the “Brave One” ahead of the Spaniard. 12 points back is Jamie MCCANNEY (GB - Yamaha) who never really found his rhythm on the Hawkstone test (7th).
Behind HOLCOMBE and GARCIA on the day it was Corsica’s Christophe CHARLIER (F - Husqvarna) who worked hard to pull out a one second margin on Loïc LARRIEU (F - Yamaha).
Danny MCCANNEY (GB - Husqvarna) was also able to gain useful points at his home GP, and two Junior riders made it onto the scoreboard; Brad FREEMAN (GB - Beta), 8th, and Albin ELOWSON (S - Husqvarna), 11th.

At the end of this FunnelWeb Filter GP of the United Kingdom, Steve HOLCOMBE takes precious points in the Mika Ahola "Brave One" Trophy ahead of the final round. He will head to the Acerbis GP of Germany 8 points ahead of GARCIA and 12 ahead of MCCANNEY. But with 40 points left on the table, nothing is decided yet. Especially as LARRIEU, NAMBOTIN, REMES or CHARLIER could still come in and take points from the three main protagonists... so head to Zschopau (Germany) on 21 and 22 October to find out who REMES, winner in 2016, will hand the “Brave One” belt to!

Provisional Classification: 1. Steve HOLCOMBE 154pts ; 2. Josep GARCIA 146pts ; 3. Jamie MCCANNEY 142pts ; 4. Loïc LARRIEU 126pts ; 5. Nathan WATSON 108pts ; 5. Eero REMES 108pts ; 7. Christophe NAMBOTIN 93pts ; 8. Matthew PHILLIPS 79pts ; 9. Davide GUARNERI 63pts ; 10. Jaume BETRIU 60pts…
