HOLCOMBE & SALVINI Make a Break!
The 2017 EnduroGP World Champion put in a perfect afternoon at the Off Road Park in Pietramurata. He left no scraps for his rivals, winning all four runs of the Enduro Test at the expense of the local star Alex SALVINI (I - Husqvarna)!
The Jolly Racing rider took 17 points for second place, and is 6 points behind HOLCOMBE in the provisional classification of the "Brave One" Trophy.
The factory Beta rider and his ex-teammate were also able to take advantage of an injury suffered by Jamie MCCANNEY (GB - Yamaha), with the Manxman dislocating his shoulder. The pair now have more than 20 points over MCCANNEY in third.
Next in line in Italy was Jamie’s brother, Danny MCCANNEY (GB - Gas Gas), who was consistently the third fastest man in the X-Rocks Enduro Test of the Trentino GP, ahead of Giacomo REDONDI (I - Honda) and an impressive Matteo CAVALLO (I - Beta Boano), 5th.
Also note the first “Brave One” points scored by the leader of the Youth 125cc class, Ruy BARBOSA (CL - Husqvarna), who took a very strong 11th place.
This Enduro Test X-Rocks wore down every rider and pushed them to their limits... Just like last year, Steve HOLCOMBE has once again demonstrated great strength of character and excellent speed in this type of special, and he imposes himself a little more as the big favourite to retain his coveted trophy. Now it's time for a summer break of two months before meeting in the region of Brescia in Italy and more precisely in Edolo on the 1st and 2nd of September!
