With a little less than a month to go before the long awaited FunnelWeb Filter Grand Prix in the United Kingdom, the entry list is getting stronger… and today we can confirm the participation of three-time World Champion David KNIGHT (GB - KTM) for the 7th round of the season!
Despite leaving the World Championship in 2013, "KNIGHTER" has not yet retired. Indeed, the rider from the Isle of Man achieved two runner-up spots in the 2013 and 2014 SuperEnduro World Championships. He also won the British Extreme Enduro Championship five times (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016), as well as participating in some Hard Enduro races such as the Erzbergrodeo (2014) and Romaniacs (2017)...
KNIGHT will ride at Hawkstone Park this September in the EnduroGP category. And although he’ll be on a KTM, "DK" has still not decided which capacity to choose, but the decision will be made between the 300 EXC and the 350 EXC-F.
David KNIGHT: “This GP was one of my goals of the season. I hope to have fun on the bike and just see how it goes, it will be a special feeling to ride in front of my fans! I hope to be competitive but it will depend on this last month of training…”
A popular figure in off-road racing, he is certainly a prestigious Wild Card to add to the penultimate round of the 2017 season. No doubt that David KNIGHT’s participation will be followed by other top riders from British, and even International, Enduro.
So meet us on September 22 and 23 in Hawkstone Park for a special GP that will mix Enduro Sprint on Saturday and GNCC on Sunday... 9 years after the last U.K World Championship round in Wales!
