REDONDI… finally ?!

With 2015 Junior World Champion Jamie MCCANNEY (GB – Yamaha) going to « Senior » class and taking with him Alessandro BATTIG (N°4 in 2015), Luis OLIVEIRA, Steve HOLCOMBE and withMikael PERSSON deciding to directly fight with E1 riders right after his FIM Youth Cup 125cc title, the Junior class has never been that open!

However, it’s Giacomo REDONDI (I – Honda), already three times Junior Vice-Champion (sic) who will be the big favorite! But will the Italian ginger finally manage to climb the highest step of the podium?
He’ll have a huge amount of rival! Like the very fast Catalan rider Josep GARCIA (Husqvarna) who’s in a really great shape. Injured in 2015, Davide SORECA (I – Honda) could be a lot more than a simple teammate for Giacomo REDONDI in the Red Moto team. Another Honda could be fighting for the first spots of the category, it will 2014 and 2015 Junior French Champion Jérémy CARPENTIERwith the EC2M Honda team of Michel MEREL.

The two dominant nations: Spain and Italy

It has to be also the year for the Portuguese rider of the Gas Gas Pons Factory team: Diogo VENTURA (Gas Gas).
Spain and Italy seem to have the most of chance to clinch this Junior title with some outsiders likeMatteo BRESOLIN (I – Beta) who will race with Beta Boano while the young Catalan prospect Kirian MIRABET (E) will be competing this season with the Sherco Academy team.
We’ll watch also the 2015 injured Swede Albin ELOWSON (Husqvarna) and his fellow Oliver NELSON (S), brand new official TM rider.
Mika BARNES (F - KTM), who chose last season to compete with the Finn Trophy team during the Six Days, the promising Polish Adam TOMICZEK (KTM), the Finn Joni KAIVOLAINEN (Beta) and Swedish Kevin OLSEN (Sherco) will also make some noise in this under 23 years old category!
