Gio SALA, New Team Manager For Gas Gas Factory!

A few days ahead of the very last Grand Prix of the 2017 season, we are already seeing moves on the transfer market, and not only from the riders! Indeed, as we head towards the off-season there has been a nice surprise from Spain and Gas Gas Factory, who have announced that enduro legend Giovanni SALA will be their new Team Manager!

Giovanni SALA will be in command of the Catalan Factory team, replacing Miki ARPA who will now work on the development of the brand’s new bikes...
A leading figure in KTM Factory since its debut in Enduro, SALA's new venture comes as a surprise for followers of the sport, but also demonstrates the desire of manufacturers to be able to progress and be competitive in EnduroGP.
After making their official comeback last year with new motorcycles and a strong communication campaign, Gas Gas are showing their ambition once again by signing the former FIM Track Inspector.
The Bergamasco, with six World Champion titles, nineteen national crowns, several victories in the Six Days, and an outstanding third place in the 2006 Dakar, has all the experience needed to become a top Team Manager. The charismatic and popular paddock figure will hope to bring the brand from Girona back into the spotlight.

With only Antoine BASSET (F) under contract so far for the team in 2018, Gas Gas and their new manager will have a busy winter in order to put together a competitive squad for the mid-March season opener in Finland, at the legendary Päijänne Enduro. But we have a feeling that the CV and the charisma of “Gio”, along with their new range of bikes, will soon attract more top names to the Catalan brand...
