A Battle Between RIEDEL and ELLWOOD

Despite two categories already having crowned 2019 champions with Gonçalo REIS (P - Gas Gas) in Open 2-Stroke and David KNIGHT (GB - TM) in Open Senior, the 6th round of the Champion Lubricants Enduro Open World Cup will be sure to see an exciting battle in the still undecided Open 4-Stroke class!

In fact, everything could change at the forthcoming Grand Prix of the Czech Republic! While Tom ELLWOOD (GB - Kawasaki) has the advantage and could even be crowned on Sunday night, he remains clearly under threat from Germany’s Robert RIEDEL (KTM). The equation is simple; if the Kawasaki rider does the double, he will go down in history as the first winner of the Open 4-Stroke Cup... if RIEDEL steals the show over the two days, everything will go down to the season finale in France, where both riders could dream of the title!
In addition, some strong riders such as Mathias VAN HOOF (B - Beta), Fraser FLOCKHART (GB - Yamaha) and Rene SCHILLING (D - Husqvarna) could also fight for wins and podium positions...
That’s without mentioning the local Czech riders Jan VASTA (KTM), Jakub ZABRANSKY (Sherco) and Radim PROUSEK (KTM).

Robert RIEDEL (D - KTM)

RAMBOW or GOMEZ to be runner-up behind REIS…

In Open 2-Stroke, it remains to be seen who will be the second fastest rider in the category behind this year’s champion, Gonçalo REIS!
They are two men capable of grabbing the runner-up spot: Nico RAMBOW (D - KTM) and Benet GOMEZ (E - Gas Gas)! These two riders shared 2nd place spoils at the Italian round, and today only the fact that the Spaniard has participated in one more GP gives him the advantage.
They will also have to keep an eye out for Poland’s Rafal BRACIK (Gas Gas) who, despite only competing in the German GP so far this year, could snatch a victory over the weekend.
While local riders Adam RADEK (Gas Gas) and Petr MACHEK (TM) and Patrik HALGAS (Beta) will all seek to see the Slovakian flag flying high.

Over in the Open Senior Cup, Werner MÜLLER (AUT - KTM) seems headed for the runner-up spot behind ‘KNIGHTER'! And it is difficult to see who could stop him as he has held onto second place since the beginning of the season and he could well claim victory this weekend if David KNIGHT fails to participate...
But look out for the Czech Republic’s Vita KUKLIK (KTM), who is well known in the paddock and could have good pace on home soil.
Meanwhile, the battle for the third place in the standings will likely be between Andrea BELOTTI (I - KTM), Patrik ANDERSSON (Yamaha) and Hans Peter MUSIL (KTM).
There will also be a strong contingent of German riders making the trip to the Czech round, led by LESSING (KTM), WOLTER (KTM), OESTREICH (KTM) and RENKEN (Husqvarna)...

The Open 4-Stroke category will be worth its weight in gold this weekend in Uhlirske Janovice with an intense duel for the title! And the other classes in the Champion Lubricants Enduro Open World Cup will have plenty of action too. Don’t miss out on this penultimate round in the Czech Republic!
